If you’d like to read it, I try to place political correctness within the larger tapestry of late modern thought here: http://thedemocracyofthedead.wordpress.com/2013/06/21/a-sketch-of-late-modernity/ Today, “Progress” is not less radical, but it is less conscious and intellectually brave. Societies now move “forward,” not so much by asking questions, as by forbidding them. This is the function of political correctness- to move society forward by forbidding questions.
